Depart from your hometown, beginning an unforgettable Learning Journey to Israel!
Welcome to Israel. Upon arrival you will meet your Learning Journeys Tour Manager. You will have an overview of the city before checking into your hotel. Afternoon language and cultural lesson with a local professor to learn about daily life in Israel. This evening enjoy a welcome dinner at the hotel.
After breakfast we will enjoy a morning tour of Tel Aviv. After the tour, we visit the Peres Center For Peace in Jaffa. Hear a lecture from the Director General and the Director of Special Projects to discuss their special project, Nurturing a Culture of Peace in the Region’s Youth. This afternoon, choose from the following learning experiences. Learning Experience A: Discuss business innovation in the Israeli markets in recent years at the World Heritage Site of the White City of Tel Aviv. Learning Experience B: Fashion – Tel Aviv Style: Get a glimpse of what goes on behind the scenes in Israel’s fashion market. This evening return to the hotel in Tel Aviv for dinner and overnight.
This morning we depart for a city tour of Nazareth. Learning Experience: Meet a local journalist who will take the group on a walking tour to discuss the unique relationship between Christians, Jews and Muslims in this thriving metropolis. Drive via Cana (where Jesus performed His first miracle by turning water into wine) to the Mount of Beatitudes, the believed location of the sermon on the mount. Dinner and overnight at Nof Ginnosar, located on the shore of the Sea of Galilee.
This morning we visit Zefat and learn about the Kabbalah from a local scholar. After the lecture, the group will move on to the Hulu Valley
Nature Reserve. Here the group can partake in a special program of tagging the many bird species. . Dinner and overnight at Nof Ginnosar.
After breakfast drive south along the Jordan Valley to participate in a unique learning experience at Bio Tour-Sde Eliyah where students will see high-tech agriculture first hand. Continue to the Baptism site on the Jordan River at Qasr El Yahud. In the afternoon you will visit the fortress of Massda located high above the Dead Sea. Continue to Jerusalem for overnight.
We begin this morning with an educational tour of Jerusalem including the Church of Nativity. Visit of the Israel Museum to view the Shrine of the Book and Model of Jerusalem 2nd Temple period. After the museum you will visit Yad VaShem Holocaust Memorial Museum and meet with a Holocaust survivor. Return to Jerusalem for dinner and overnight.
After breakfast depart for the Archaeological site of the City of David and Hezekiah Tunnel. Meet an archeologist who will take the group through one of the most exciting digs in the world. Emerge at the Davidson Center and view the visual presentation. Return to Jerusalem for dinner and overnight.
Morning visit to the Western Wall, the holiest place in modern Jewish tradition. Learning Experiences: Special meeting at a police station in
Jerusalem, Mabat 2000, where you will meet the officer in charge of monitoring the Old City, keeping the peace and securing this multicultural ancient city.
After an early dinner at a local restaurant enjoy a movie night out at the Maale Film School for a special program where we will view some of the newest creations in Israeli film first hand. The Ma’aleh School of Television, Film & the Arts is situated in the heart of Jerusalem. It is the only film school in the world devoted to exploring the intersection of Judaism and modern life. Continue to Jerusalem for overnight.
