Why Learning Journeys?

At Learning Journeys we believe in a new kind of vacation. Our unique journeys help you explore and develop your skills and interest, travel the world, give back to the community and ultimately re-connect with yourself.

The destinations are chosen specifically to make practicing that skill more accessible, and more fun. Typical skills offered are health and wellness, cooking, photography, art, birding and wildlife, language study, architecture, music, dance and more. Programs range from beginner to professional certification. You will even have the opportunity to attend off the beaten path festivals in your specific area of interest which will take your learning immersion to new heights!

Brand Pillars

Transformation

The quest for knowledge as we open our hearts and minds to new experiences can transform us. As we see the world through the eyes of others, the communities we visit and touch are also transformed. This cycle of positive change is at the heart of every Learning Journeys experience.

Education

Learning Journeys is designed to nurture that ember of curiosity inside you into a flame of life-long discovery. Continued learning ensures continued growth, whether pursuing any number of interests that intrigue you or a passion you have honed over the years.

Exploration

Truly, the world is your classroom. Exploring the rich and varied cultures of the destinations you visit multiplies the value of your educational pursuits, and the exploration of yourself. The journey itself – to a new place and new you – is what truly matters.

Self-reflection

Through reflection, we bring learning to life. Pausing from the chaos of our daily lives allows us to sort through experiences to create meaning, from which we learn more deeply about ourselves. Understanding what truly moves us leads to rich and profound actions that shape our lives.

Community service and sustainability is at the core of the Learning Journeys mission. In addition to hands-on interactive classes, we work in the local communities, helping to improve lives and our planet. Destinations are chosen for their exceptional beauty, abundant wildlife, accessibility to expert practitioners, and generally fun places to visit! The destinations are near and far-North America, Latin and South America, Europe, India, Asia, Australia and more.

Finally, just as you remember specific meals from a trip taken many years ago, your ability to recall information is enhanced when combined with a unique setting. “Learning Journeys” are an excellent value for money and an investment.

Program

DAY 1: Cairo – Giza

This one-hour introductory meeting will acquaint you with this Egyptian experience as we begin both an inner journey and outer exploration. Dr. Brownell will discuss the program components for the workshops as well as an activity for you to meet each other followed by a Q&A period.
(Many people opt to spend a few days in Cairo before the journey starts.)
Overnight, Hyatt Regency West Cairo, Giza (Dinner included)

DAY 2: Saqqara

A highlight of our day will be a visit to the Serapeum, a huge subterranean complex. The long hallway that runs in an east/west direction is flanked by chambers that house gigantic, highly crystalline stone boxes. Many believe that Bulls associated with the Apis Bull cult were buried in them. However, no bulls or human bodies were found in any of these huge boxes that were made with an extremely advanced technology. When excavated in 1852, all twenty-four boxes, weighing 60-80 tons, had been plundered. Their lids had been pried loose and the contents taken. Our collective research shows that these boxes are far more ancient than the writings found on and around them and were an integral part of a huge energy device. View all the elements to fathom how it may have functioned.

We’ll enjoy a wonderful Egyptian Style lunch at the Palm Club before we return back to the Hyatt.

Workshop: Uncovering or Affirming Your Purpose. This workshop begins with a meditation followed by a hands-on activity for you to delve further into your life’s purpose and identify an area of your life you may want to focus on for change or increased abundance. (2 hours)

Own arrangements for dinner.

Overnight, Hyatt Regency West Cairo, Giza (Breakfast and Lunch included)

DAY 3: Egyptian Museum and Flight to Luxor

. We will point out the Schist Disk, made famous by Hakim’s observation that it is clearly evidence of the superior technology of the ancient Khemitians. Tucked in a back corner on the first floor you will see evidence of how this spinning disk may have actually worked!
Afterwards we will enjoy lunch together followed by a transfer to the Cairo Airport for our flight to Luxor.
Overnight Steinberger Achti Resort (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner included)

DAY 4: Quena: Temple of Hathor as the Womb of Many Secrets- Temple of Abydos

Star maps depicted on the ceilings in this temple, and the replica of famous Dendera Zodiac (the original is displayed at the Louvre in Paris) point to the ancient origins of astrology and superior knowledge of our cosmos. Hathor (Het-Hert), the Netert who personified motherhood, beauty, sexuality, love, joy, harmony, dance and music was often associated with the planet, Venus. She was known as the Lady of the Stars, and represented the nurturing solar food of the Sun’s rays, required for birth, growth and renewal. Lunch at the Key of Life Hotel. Afternoon visit to Visit the Temple of Abydo-: Temple of Seti I. Abydos is one of the oldest and most important burial centers in ancient Egypt. It was considered a pilgrimage site for the ancient Egyptians, as it is associated with the afterlife. The city of Abydos is wrapped in mystery, shrouded in unexplained phenomenon.

DAY 5: Valley of the Kings, Queen Hatshepsut Temple -Luxor Temple at Night

We’ll have an Egyptian style lunch in the village before returning to Luxor.

This evening, we will enjoy the Luxor Temple by night. We will explore the mysteries of the enigmatic Luxor Temple in the early evening. Linked to Karnak Temple by the Avenue of Sphinxes, Luxor Temple utilizes similar patterns of sacred geometry in its design. After 15 years of intense study, Alchemist, R. A. Schwaller de Lubicz, called the Luxor Temple- The Temple of Man, in a book in which explored the connectedness of ancient Egyptian philosophy, spirituality, mathematics, and science. Lubicz’s theory that the Luxor Temple was designed to replicate all aspects of Man (body, mind and spirit), is well documented and has gained support from many Alternative Egyptologists, such as John Anthony West

(Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner)

DAY 6: Karnak

. An avenue of ram-headed sphinxes leads us into the gigantic complex, which includes temples dedicated to Amun, a Neter representing an aspect or stage of the Sun, and Khonsu, who represents the Moon.

We will visit the powerful Chapel of Sekhmet, the Neter who represents the potent and purifying energies of the sun. Sekhmet personifies the solar rays that provide the electromagnetic energy required to sustain life and the earth’s grid. As the lioness, she symbolizes the powerful and fierce, yet protective love, akin to that of any mother. Sekhem, means power and Sekhmet is the electrical spark that provides the necessary energy to perform what we have been told are mystical, magical and powerful feats, including the healing of the physical body. She is the Life Force. Be prepared to experience a morning you will never forget! You will also have the opportunity to view depictions of various medical instruments and alchemical healing practices.

AFTERNOON: Discovery Chats. Schedule a 15-minute chat with Coach Eileen to explore well-being coaching.

DAY 8: The Unfinished Obelisk, Temple of Isis at Philae

After lunch, we will all explore the famous Aswan Quarry that is home to the 1,200-ton Unfinished Obelisk, that only a handful of cranes worldwide could lift today, and other significant evidence of higher technologies used by the ancient Khemitians.

Afterwards, we will take a motorboat to the enchanting Island of Philae, and the powerful Temple of Auset (Isis). Auset is associated with the ancients’ most highly revered star, Sirius. The annual rising of Sirius was synonymous with the flooding of the River Nile, which left huge deposits of silt, the very valuable black earth or KMT(Khemit) for which Egypt was named.
